A Great Start to the Indoor Track Season

The Indoor track team is off to a running start, with many members already qualifying for state. The group has competed in two meets thus far, both at the LSU Carl Maddox Field House, and will have one last chance to qualify for state this coming weekend. An individual must rank in the Division II top 12 overall in order to compete in the State Championships on February 18th. The state of Louisiana only has two indoor facilities so every meet is highly competitive, helping numerous athletes hit career best times early in the season. For the most part athletes are divided into three specialty groups: distance, field events, and sprints. Although each individual is focused on their own areas of expertise the whole team comes together creating a unique atmosphere. Coach Fal leads the team and is assisted by Coach Zell and Coach Daniels. These three coaches together allow the team to excel in all divisions of the sport. The team is comprised of rookies and veterans helping lead the way to a successful season. The team is just getting started with a long road ahead to outdoor track and with lots of room for improvement on already impressive results.
