The Saints Defeat the Eagles: Highlights and Game Summary
The Saints lose the toss and have the ball. The ball was intercepted by Cre’von LeBlanc, and it’s Eagles ball. In the proceeding drive, Foles throws a touchdown to Jordan Mathews.
In the next drive, the Saints do not score and it is the Eagles ball again. The Eagles score another touchdown and the score is 14-0.
2 minutes into the second quarter, the Saints’ Marshown Lattimore intercepts the ball. In this drive on a 4th down, the Saints’ kicker Thomas Morestead fakes a punt and get the 1st down. On the 2 yard line, 4th and goal, the Saints, rather than kick a field goal, go for it and get a touchdown; Drew Brees throws to Keith Kirkwood. The score is now 14-7.
In the last seconds of the half, Will Lutz kicks a field goal. Now Saints are only losing 14-10.
Half way into the 3rd quarter, back-up quarterback Taysom Hill comes in as Drew Brees lines up as a receiver. Hill throws to Kamara for the touchdown. But there was a holding penalty so the touchdown did not count and the Saints lost 10 yards. With one minute left in the 3rd quarter Drew Brees throws to Michael Thomas for a touchdown. The score is now 14-17.
5 minutes into the 4th quarter, Lutz kicks a field goal to make the score 14-20.
Lutz misses a field goal with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
2 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Nick Foles throws a pass intended for Alshon Jeffery, when it slips out of his hands and into the hands of Marshon Lattimore, his second pick of the game.
The Saints are scheduled to play the Rams this Sunday January 20th at 2:00 at the Superdome.
