Relay For Life
Relay for Life is a great opportunity for high schoolers to get involved in the fight against cancer. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. The event is also a great way for teams to be creative and work together. On Friday April 6th, Relay For Life took place at Country Day from 4-9. At the event, girls in grades 9th-12th and boys in 11th grade all had booths in order to raise money. Between bracelet making, Chick-fil-a, refreshments, mini-bowling, and an inflatable obstacle course, Newman attracted lots of people. One South Lark closed the event with a wonderful performance. The Newman teams raised over $13,000 in donations leading up the event!!! The junior girls’, captain Ellie Montgomery, participated in Relay for Life because “it’s a great experience, and I’ve learned a lot from it. It’s a great way to get involved with helping others.”
