Volleyball is headed to the Cajundome!

For the first time since 2017, the volleyball team is going to the state tournament! After an amazing season with impressive wins over their biggest rivals, Sacred Heart and Ben Franklin, as well as some highly ranked teams like Fountainbleau and Assumption, the team took the 4th seed going into playoffs. In their first match, they beat Fisher. They then went on to sweep Patrick Taylor in the second round of playoffs, which was also the last home game of the season and last time for the seniors to compete in the Palaestra.

On Wednesday, the school is hosting a pep rally to celebrate the team’s achievements and cheer them on before they head to Lafayette. The tournament is usually held in Kenner in the Pontchartrain Center, but because of damage due to Hurricane Ida, it was forced to relocate to the Cajundome in Lafayette. Nonetheless, the girls are ready to play and are excited to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in 4 years! They face Lafayette Christian in the quarterfinals on Thursday. If they win, the semi finals are on Friday, and the state championship is on Saturday. Wish the girls luck on their road to a state championship! Go Greenies!
