“Far Out.” – Apple’s September Event
Everything announced at Apple’s September iPhone event!
On September 7th, Apple held their annual September iPhone event, where they released the new iPhone 14 series (14 and 14 Pro) and Apple Watch series (Series 8, SE, and Ultra), along with the updated AirPods Pro 2.
The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus (above) bring an improved camera system with “action mode” to steady shaky videos, longer battery life, a new Emergency SOS via satellite feature, crash detection, and the removal of the sim card tray for eSIM, along with replacing the “mini” size with a 6.7 inch “plus” size option. The iPhone 14s are available in 5 colors and start at $799 (14) and $899 (14 Plus).
The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max (above) had the larger update, including the all-new “Dynamic Island” to remove the notch and provide a new way to interact with your iPhone, brighter and always on display, a new 48 MP main camera and other improvements for the best photos and videos on an iPhone, the new A16 Bionic chip, and better battery life, in addition to all the features added to the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Pros are available in 4 colors, including a new deep purple, and start at $999 (14 Pro) and $1099 (Pro Max).
The Apple Watch Series 8 (top image) was only a minor update, adding temperature sensing, crash detection, international roaming, and the new S8 chip, starting at $399. The Apple Watch SE (bottom image) adds the faster S8 chip, crash detection, and new cases, starting at $249.
The Apple Watch Ultra (above) is a brand new model introduced to the Apple Watch family with a new design. It includes a larger size, more durable case, increased water resistance, improved display, enhanced microphones, new action button, longer battery life, a siren, specially designed watch bands, redesigned compass, dive tracking technology, and more, in addition to the features of the Apple Watch Series 8. It is the perfect watch for athletes and explorers (specifically hikers, divers, and runners), who need the added technology, new design, and enhanced safety features for extreme environments. The new Apple Watch Ultra includes 3 band options and starts at $799.
The updated AirPods Pro 2 (above) feature increased noise cancellation, personalized spacial audio, the new H2 chip, enhanced audio quality, touch control on the stem to change volume, and adaptive transparency mode. The new improved case adds longer battery life, a speaker and precision tracking for Find My, a lanyard loop, and the ability to charge with an Apple Watch or MagSafe charger, starting at $249.
Overall, Apple made some major changes to their Pro iPhone line and AirPods Pros but only made minor updates to their regular iPhones and Apple Watches, while introducing a new and innovative Apple Watch model. For more information about the new Apple products, visit apple.com.
