Cross Country State Meet

After working incredibly hard since August 1, the Varsity Cross Country team wrapped up their season on Monday, November 14 with their state meet in Natchitoches, Louisiana. They traveled on Sunday so the athletes could scope out the course before the big race and get a good night sleep in preparation. Monday was cool and overcast: the perfect running weather. The boys’ team ran first, which was unusual as the girls’ race is usually first. Coach Fal and Coach Zell hyped up the boys’ team, and they all said: “let’s go!” The team competed very well, and junior Robert Freeman broke his personal best time! The girls race was the final event of the day, and Mikayla Rulh placed fourth overall! The boys team won 4th place and the girls team won 5th place! The team was super supportive of each other, and all of the runners pushed their friends to give it their all in the last race of the season. Many parents traveled to the race as well, so the support was unparalleled from any other race this season. On the way home, the team enjoyed their tradition of eating Natchitoches meat pies.
