Freshmen Open Learning Workshop

On October 13th, the freshman class participated in a High Resolves Workshop. This workshop was intended to open our eyes and challenge ourselves to create a “more inclusive community.” As a freshman, I appreciated the opportunity to engage in conversations that we normally would never have. Hearing what everyone thought about Newman’s diversity and inclusion was truly a liberating experience. Navis Allen, a freshman, “I learned more about finding my identity and it forced me to open up to more diverse ideas.” George Pipes, a freshman, claims, “I enjoyed collaborating with my peers to discover more about my identity.” Aadhya Krishnan, also a freshmen, says, “I think that Open Learning was a cool experience for us to have to view life and people from a different perspective.” The whole community looks forward to more experiences to make Newman a more inclusive place.
