Ms. Bowerfind or Ms. B has become the new AP computer science, engineering, and honors advanced topic in computer science teacher. She also teaches creative coding and the art of making. Her favorite thing about teaching is to see students master new skills and discover a new world of creating. Her favorite thing about Newman is our advanced tools in the maker space, specifically the 3D printers, sewing tools, and painting materials.

 She Grew up in Portland Oregon, lived in Providence, Rhode Island, then finally came to New Orleans. Previously she worked at Oakland High School, SF High School, and Berkeley Wheeler School. Ms. B went to school at the University of Cali Berkeley for computer science and did Global Poverty and Practice for a reading program. 

Her favorite things about New Orleans so far are the weather, she says: “Coming from New England the winter here has been nice”, along with the arts and culture found in the city. Before moving here she liked rock climbing, along with this she enjoys outdoor activities, sewing/making clothes, and silks.  Finally, her favorite album, at the moment, is the new Dochii album Grouper Hola Tango Beach House Japanese Breakfast.
