The 2023-2024 school year welcomed Ms. Madeline Corcoran, the new Upper School Counselor. Ms. Corcoran originally hails from Michigan, received her undergraduate degree at Tulane University, and obtained her master’s degree at New York University. Before assuming her position at Newman, Ms. Corcoran worked at a public school on the West Bank. Since working at Newman, Ms. Corcoran has loved the openness and approachability of the students and plans to use this opportunity for engagement for her future plans in Upper School Counseling. Her passion is to closely work with kids in order to improve their overall academic experience, and she plans to use her position to do so.
Ms. Corcoran has made many exciting plans concerning the future of Upper School Counseling. Because this is her first year at Newman, Ms. Corcoran has decided to take note of the many successes in the Counseling department and carefully evaluate what she can do to further assist students in their academic development. Ideally, she wants us students to “continue using all the resources available to us, such as the ARL”, as well as to set up meetings with her! Welcome Ms. Corcoran!
