“What should I do with the time before the start of my extra-curricular activities after school?”
This is the most asked question by high school students at Newman.
Okay, maybe not–
But it’s still a critical question that students in the Upper School face.
As the second semester starts up again, many students are waiting for their after-school activities to begin. After a full 85 minutes of learning, the last thing someone wants to do is start doing their homework. Although some people use this time to walk to the nearby coffee shop — do you want to walk all that way and have to come back? And stand in a huge line filled with students from the school right across the street? The answer is no! You want to do something fun! You want to socialize with friends! If you want to use that time before sports or extracurriculars to do something you’re passionate about, we have the perfect activity for you: CLUBS!
It’s never too late to join a new club and try out new things! As of the 2024-2025 school year, we have 11 new clubs. With so many more opportunities for students, all these different clubs are an excellent way for you to find an amazing community on campus! Below you can find a list of all the available clubs this year and a brief description of some of the new clubs this year.

Together, they will cover how Asian Americans are portrayed in the media through movies, shows, and short films. Club members will also enjoy the culinary experience of Asian Americans, as different snacks and food will be served at each meeting, judged by a vote of the meeting prior. The club is open to all, and non-Asian Americans are encouraged to join the explore the cultures.
