Joining a team can be really intimidating, especially for someone new to the school. The good thing about being on Newman’s Girls’ Soccer Team is that it is comprised of a group of welcoming girls and it’s easy to feel a part of the family. On Monday, October 30th, we officially started practicing. We’re mostly working on fitness and the technical skills that are required to succeed in a fast-paced game. Our new coaches, Heather Fitzgerald and Erin Brennan, are great additions to the coaching staff because they’re encouraging and knowledgeable. The team is looking to build off of their two consecutive state championship wins when the 2017 season kicks off on November 16 against Ponchatoula. We are all looking forward to a successful season and, above all, our goal is to work hard and have fun while we’re at it.
