Girls Soccer Senior Night!
These past two weeks, the girl’s soccer team had a competitive schedule. On Thursday the 16th, they beat McGehee at home 2-0. That weekend, they ended in a 0-0 tie against Ben Franklin, also a home game. Tuesday the 21st, after MLK day, the girl’s soccer team traveled to play Country Day at Country Day. Pulling off a 5-0 win, it gave the team confidence before going into the Sacred Heart game that Saturday. Defeating Sacred Heart 2-1, the team was excited to redeem themselves from the year before, when they lost 2-1. Finally, on Friday, January 31st, the 10 soccer seniors were honored at their home game against Lakeshore. After a tough fight, the Greenies walked away with a 1-1 tie. This score does not reflect how the game went, however. Members of the team felt confident walking away with the performance of their last regular-season game because of the effort and grit players saw each other give. Against a strong division two top-ranked team, the Greenies are excited to build off their performance against Lakeshore and head into the playoffs confident.
