For the first time in four years, the Newman Football Team takes a huge win over the St. Charles Catholic Comets! This past Friday, September 6, the Greenies played St. Charles Catholic at home. This football game remains very important as St. Charles Catholic are rivals of Newman and the two teams were ready to fight for the win. This past Friday, despite the poor weather conditions and chance of cancelation, the Greenies came out ready to play and fought hard. The student section dressed in the theme of Rock N’ Roll was packed as well as a large section of Newman parents all there to support our Greenies. The game began and Newman was off to a great start as Collier Villere scored an impressive touchdown followed by another from Charles Wilson. Despite the constant rain throughout the game, the Greenies kept fighting and secured a huge lead by the end of the fourth quarter. The final score being 24-10 securing a huge victory for Newman! Overall the Greenies football team is off to a great start of the season!
