District Championship Swim Meet
On Saturday, the varsity swim team competed at the District Championship meet hosted by St. Martins. Both teams had great meets, with the boys winning their meet and the girls coming in second to Sacred Heart. For the girls team, the loss was a disappointment but not necessarily a surprise; ultimately, the girls did do very well considering that Sacred Heart’s team is almost twice the size of Newman’s.
Both the boys and girls teams had many impressive first place finishes as well. All three of the boys relays placed first, along with the girls’ 400 free relay.
The next swim meet will be the highly competitive Metro Championship at University of New Orleans this Thursday and Saturday. Let’s keep supporting our Greenies on their journey to success at the state championships!
