Today, Newman’s ACTIONS Committee held an assembly announcing that it would be coordinating Hurricane Harvey relief with SBP, a company founded by Newman parents Zack Rosenburg and Liz McCartney to help St. Bernard Parish rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. ACTIONS reps AK Aluise ’18, Aliyah Dixon ’18, and Maici Williams ’18, and SBP founder Liz McCartney announced the partnership Monday as part of an effort to give back to the Houston community, which made a concerted effort to help New Orleans residents resettle and rebuild after Katrina.

Students were asked to donate supplies found on SBP’s Amazon Wish List and help to load supply trucks bound for disaster regions. Newman students will also have the opportunity to travel to areas impacted by Harvey to aid the rebuilding effort in the future.
