Established in 2006, St. James Cheese Company began its journey to becoming one of the best delis and lunch spots in the New Orleans area. This restaurant specializes in cheese, meats, and other foods that make it unique, such as sandwiches, salads, charcuterie boards, and different types of platters. They offer take-out cheese and deli meats as well as sit-down meals.

St. James has two locations, one in Uptown NOLA and the other in the Warehouse District. The prices for the items on the menu range from around $10-$30. The platters are what tend to be around $30. As for the salads and sandwiches, they typically cost about $10-$15. However, the serving size of each item ordered is plenty to split between two people.  My salad was definitely too big for just me, but the ingredients were fresh and overall it was delicious.  Cooper also took half of his sandwich home but seemed to really like the half that he ate.

In addition to the restaurant’s expansive menu, in the Uptown location, they offer balcony, patio, and indoor seating. The restaurant is split into two separate buildings, the deli in half and seating in the other. The patio is in the middle of the two buildings.  We ate on the balcony and it was great weather so it was very enjoyable.  You can watch people going by on Prytania St. and still talk without it being too noisy.

On its website, St. James Cheese Co. offers a page called ‘The Cheese Blogger’ that basically gives updates and interesting stories about the company and its work as a small business. Overall, this restaurant is an amazing spot to have lunch or an early dinner with friends and family!
