MLB Playoffs

Earlier this month the MLB playoffs began: ten teams made the playoffs, but only one
will be crowned champion.
The playoffs kicked off with the Wild Card game of the Red Sox
versus the Yankees. The Red Sox got off to a hot start with a 2-run home run in the first inning.
Later in the 3rd inning the Sox kept on rolling, expanding their lead to 3-0. In the top of the 6th
inning, however, the Yankees slowly began to claw back a solo shot to put them within 2. They
earned that run right back in the bottom of the 6th as a double to deep right field put them back
up 3. Later in the 7th inning, the Sox poured it on as a single scored 2 runs, making the score 6-1.
In a last effort comeback, a solo shot in the 9th made the score 6-2. However the rally wasn’t
enough as the Red Sox closed out the end of the game to advance to the ALDS and will face off
against division rival, Tampa Bay Rays.
In the NL wild out west in Los Angeles, the Dodgers face off against the underdog Cardinals. The game got off to a quick start as the Cardinals scored first on a wild pitch. Later in the Fourth inning the Dodgers hit a solo blast to tie the game. The action cools off as the game becomes a pitching duel and neither team can score a run.
